Dr. Antonio Corrales is the founder and owner of Sterling Evaluation and Assessment, along with being a professor in Educational Leadership and the Coordinator of the Educational Leadership doctoral program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He has several years of experience in providing managerial leadership and administrative support to various departments in a variety of school districts and organizations, serving in executive and administrative positions at the district and campus level, as well as management of multimillion-dollar projects for multinational companies. In addition to publishing articles on at-risk student populations and school turnaround, Dr. Corrales has also authored the book Undoing the Damage: Repairing a Broken School District, portraying the struggles of public education in the United States by detailing the story of a small urban public school district facing closure by the State’s Department of Education.
Most recently, Dr. Corrales published his latest book Always Look 3 Stoplights Ahead: 9 Principles for Establishing Successful Schools, describing the remarkable journey of an immigrant from Hungary who, after facing the death of his parents along with an economic depression in Europe, migrates to America seeking a better life. Gustav’s journey is guided by nine research-based educational leadership principles learned from both his mentors and his experiences on the path. This man’s story is marked by love, struggles, learning curves, dreams, leaps of faith, an incredible desire to become an effective educator, and most importantly, the motto to always look three stoplights ahead.
Dr. Corrales has created the YouTube channel Let’s Talk about Education with Antonio Corrales, a weekly conversational platform that hosts successful educators from around the world speaking on highly pertinent topics for parents, students, and educators. Dr. Corrales earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the Universidad Metropolitana, in Venezuela, and his MBA from Reutlingen University of Technology & Business, in Germany. Following Dr. Corrales’ move to the U.S., he earned his master's and doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Tina Farrell brings a wealth of expertise spanning a 40 year career in public education. Tina has served as a classroom teacher, Visual Arts Coordinator, Director of Visual and Performing Arts, the Director of Special Programs, and as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, where she supervised over 35 administrators, developed over 837 curriculum documents, implemented the common assessment and learning framework, led the Policy and Legal Affairs office, provided all of the professional development for the district, and helped guide the 2nd largest district in Texas to its first Exemplary Rating. She currently teaches in the educational leadership doctoral program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Tina received her master's and doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Dr. Linda Hart has over 20 years of experience in counseling and education, and is currently a professional school counselor, licensed professional counselor/supervisor, and a registered play therapist/supervisor. Linda has developed extensive professional development programs for school counselors, school psychologists, social workers, and licensed professional counselors. Her instructions offer experiential activities, whereas the attendees leave the training with hands-on techniques that can be utilized in their professional practice. Linda has given presentations and training to independent school districts and universities statewide, nationally, and internationally.She earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Sam Houston State University.
Silvi Lopez-Martin has over 17 years of teaching experience across different grade levels in the U.S. Born in Spain, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Málaga, she is now an American citizen who believes in public education and in 21st century skills. Silvi has been a teacher, a mentor to many teachers, and a curriculum developer for high school Spanish from level one to AP Spanish Language. After teaching at Galveston Independent School District for six years, she moved to California where she first worked at a challenging charter high school, and at a private high school. She thrived at San Jose Unified School District where she set a school record for 100% of her students passing the AP Spanish College Board Exam for three years in a row. She is currently teaching at Westview High School in San Diego, one of the top high schools in the country.
Kayla Orton has over 20 years of experience in planning, developing and implementing strategic marketing and communication solutions. She excels in partnering with non-profit, educational and global organizations to achieve specific goals. Kayla’s specialties include designing engaging content to build relationships, create awareness, improve performance and influence change. She holds a B.F.A. degree in Visual Communications from Louisiana Tech University and a M.S. degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a focus in Human Performance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Dr. Lisa Davis has extensive experience in helping districts to make improvement in the areas of school management, accountability, and educational leadership. She has over 17 years of public education experience as a teacher, middle school principal, high school principal, region service center program writer, and as a school district Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. Lisa is currently responsible for providing direction, evaluation, and leadership for the overall curriculum and instruction program at secondary campuses. She received her bachelor’s and master's degrees from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and her doctorate degree from Lamar University.
